Susan Faucon - Composer, Writer, Producer, Vocalist, Animal Rescue
Award Winning Composer, Writer and Producer, Susan Faucon strives to create music, theatre, characters and comedy that will lift the human spirit. She seeks to inspire her community to look inward for the answers and to let go of societal conformity... she yearns for each of us to be the author of own story. Susan is a self-taught Washingtonian musician. She is a multi-genre songwriter, playwright, producer, director, bandleader and vocalist who’s had a lengthy career in stage, film, video and studio. She studied theatre at Towson State University and received her degree with honors in Human Development from University of MD, College Park. Susan’s original works represent her fascination with and eagerness to explore the jagged nooks and flavored crannies of the human experience.
Susan began writing original material in 2005 as she contemplated and wrote her life story through word, melody and lyric which resulted in her one woman show's, Sweet Surrender, GDNHAP and The Hole in My Heart Is Filled With Ice Cream.
She conceived the idea for Killer Stilts Theatrical Jazz in 2009 as she struggled to reconcile societal conformity and conditioning in and around her. And once again, her reconciliation would be found in the melody, lyric, dialogue and humor that would create Killer Stilts. Killer Stilts blends rich contemporary jazz, funk, blues, rock and pop with thought provoking lyrics and dialogue, complex character development, and LOTS of humor. Susan writes to inspire and lift the human spirit to a place of hope, possibility, self awareness and Love.
She is currently developing a brand new script entitled, “It’s Just Coffee”, a satirical look at the complexities, misunderstandings and grandiosity that can fester in the minds of 3 generations of dating women.
She is currently producing her original Theatrical Jazz Project, Killer Stilts; co-producing a live recording concert series with Asparagus Media in Takoma Park; developing a new inspirational music project entitled, Inspirare; writing a new Theatrical Jazz production entitled , "It's Just Coffee"; and has created and opened her new Performance and Animal Rescue project, "Pets n Poets" Whew!
